Neighborhood Tree Walk in Historic Anacostia

  • Anacostia Park (Marion Barry Avenue SE Entrance) Washington, DC (map)

Join Casey Trees and HABA for an easy-paced walking tour through Anacostia Park. With both the park and neighboring Poplar Point slated for major renovations (Anacostia Park | Poplar Point), we have a unique opportunity to envision a greener future for our waterfront.

On this walk, we’ll highlight current trees to see how they define the landscape and contribute to the local ecosystem and discuss planting opportunities. We will also cross into Fairlawn to observe the neighborhood's street trees. Along the way, we’ll explore how park usage—from recreation to relaxation—plays a lead role in how trees are thoughtfully planted across a space. Come share your vision for the neighborhood as we imagine a greener, more resilient Anacostia together.

Free. Advance registration required on Casey Trees’ website. Space is limited.
