Directory of Government & Elected Representatives
Have a community concern?
-
Submit a 311 request via DC311 for all District-level and public property concerns before contacting a representative.
Note: Some issues may not have a dedicated category. In those cases, contact the designated point of contact listed below to initiate your request.
How to Submit a Request
Online: Visit 311.dc.gov
Mobile: Download the DC311 App (Available on iOS and Android)
Text: Type "DC311" to 32311
Phone: Dial 3-1-1 (or 202-737-4404)
Important: Retain your service request number. If the issue remains unresolved past its completion date, provide this number to an elected official or agency representative so they can effectively advocate for a resolution.
Why Start with 311Data-Driven Funding: Service requests provide the raw data the District uses to make budget and programmatic funding decisions. A high volume of requests ensures that Historic Anacostia and Ward 8 remain top priorities for city resources and infrastructure investment.
Accountability & Tracking: Submitting a ticket creates a formal record of your concern. This provides you with a service request number, which is a necessary reference for all future communications with agencies and elected officials to ensure progress is made.
Direct Agency Routing: It places your request directly into the queue of the specific District agency responsible for the fix, bypassing unnecessary middle steps.
Step 2: Contact an official
To help you access services, this directory provides contact information for District and Federal agencies and elected officials, along with descriptions of what they do.
For specialized issues not on the 311 platform, or for requests remaining unresolved past their completion date, please use the direct agency contacts listed below. Dedicated Ward 8 contacts are designated by an asterisk (*).
Note: Agency personnel and contact information are subject to change. If you notice an outdated or omitted contact, please email HABA at historicanacostia@gmail.com so we can keep this resource current for neighbors.
